A Reimagined Staircase
In this duplex on Saint-Hubert Street, the objective was to create a spacious entry and maximize the amount of natural light in the living areas by opening up the spaces. Relocating the staircase—originally accessed from the kitchen—became a key element of the project. This change allowed for a better kitchen layout and made it possible to enlarge the ground-floor bathroom by reclaiming the space previously occupied by the light well.
Flexible Living Spaces
With the bedrooms arranged in the basement, the ground floor becomes a bright, welcoming, and flexible space for the whole family. The owners now have their private area downstairs, with two bedrooms, a family bathroom, and a small office, while still retaining the garage.
